SART Leadership Group

The Screening Assessment, Referral and Treatment (SART) Leadership Committee was first formed in 1999 in response to the risk that substance use during pregnancy posed to the infants, families, and to the greater community. The vision developed by this community group is "We envision a seamless continuum of comprehensive prevention and intervention services for substance abusing women and their families."

The committee is comprised of members of the community that serve pregnant and post-partum substance abusing mothers and their children. Groups represented include: private obstetricians, perinatologists, family medicine providers, the UCSF-Fresno OB program, perinatal treatment providers, the Regional Medical Center, the Department of Children and Families of Fresno County, and the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division of the Department of Community Health.
